'Living the Wheel of the Year'
We begin our journey at Samhain as we enter the period of resting. We will journey with the Dark Goddesses and give our attention to our root earth energy, and acknowledge that all life begins in the dark. We will reflect on the year just gone through ritual and affirm all that we wish to release into the cauldron of transformation, clearing out old outmoded patterns that no longer serve us and reconnecting with the wisdom of our ancestors. We will walk on the land and make Talismans to hold our intentions for the coming year.
Moving to Yule in December, taking the time to go inside into the stillness. We will journey for our inner wisdom and understanding and celebrate the re-birth of the Sun. We will make Witches ladders heavy with symbolism for the coming year and learn about cord and candle magick and discover our Animal guides who will walk with us into the year ahead.
And the wheel turns to Imbolc. In February we will celebrate the new carefree innocent energy of the Maiden Goddess Bridie. We will meditate on the energy stirring within us and create a group poem to send healing to the world through our words and sound. We will learn smith crafting and create our own Athames at a local forge and walk in nature embracing the new growth all around us.
Ostara/Spring Equinox and the time of balance again when light and dark stand equal momentarily. We will explore the energies of the land as the Ley Lines start to become fully active again, as the Dragon rises, and focus on our personal direction. We will paint eggs rich in the symbolism of fertility that confirm every action has a re-action and make promises to ourselves to nurture our creativity by journeying into our past lives to look at where it may have become stuck.
And so to Beltane when we will celebrate our courage and walk on the fire of nine woods and burn anything holding us back. We will make headdresses and masks of greenery and work with the fertile currents all around us as nature bursts forth and the sap rises, and, as God and Goddess join together in union we will visit and symbolically mix the waters of the Red and White spring - the masculine and feminine energy.
Summer solstice and time to celebrate life and our achievements and recognize that with achievement comes change. We will walk out on the land of Avalon and find items in nature to create wands that hold the power of the midsummer and the Sun at its highest point, and create a Mandala to celebrate the Sun and its life giving force as the God reaches the peak of his strength and virility.
Moving to Lammas where we will feast and focus on the rewards we are harvesting, giving thanks to the abundance of the first harvest and acknowledging the sacrifice of the God though ritually promising to make a sacrifice to others in need of assistance. We will create a basket of abundance and weave our gratitude into it to share with others and paint power stones to remind us of our achievement as we start moving towards the dark.
And finally to Mabon and the Autumn Equinox, and as the Sun moves into the sign of Libra we will look at the balance in our lives and asses what we have learnt and achieved so far.We will make dream catchers to take us into the dark and hold our dreams through the shadow times and we will celebrate the harvest of our year together. We will create and perform a self-dedication ritual to following the path of a Witch.
The intention behind the programme is to create a safe space where we can share and deepen our personal experiences of our spiritual path without judgement and see the commonality of the threads that links us all together. Through sharing this journey we can experience growth in all areas of our life and a greater sense of connection with God and Goddess. In order to get the full benefit of the programme and sense of community it is necessary to book for the whole year.
Dates, times and venues to be confirmed. Beginning November 2011
Cost for the whole year of eight weekends is £800.
